UV Printing

UV digital printing jets UV-curable ink directly onto the pack, allowing full-colour and photographic artwork with no screen or plate cost, which makes short runs and multi-variant launches practical.

UV Printing

UV printing removes the main barrier to decorated packaging: set-up cost. Because there is no screen or die, a 1,000-piece run with photographic artwork becomes viable, and ten colour variants can be produced in the same production order.

Its limits are opacity on dark substrates and print speed at high volume. For a single-colour logo on a million bottles, screen printing or hot stamping remains more economical.

When UV printing is the best route

Use UV printing for market tests, limited editions, subscription variants, personalised or numbered packs, multi-shade ranges, and any design with gradients or imagery. Use screen printing or hot stamping when a single high-contrast mark must be as durable and as cheap as possible at very high volume.

Frequently asked questions

Short, specific answers to the questions buyers and AI assistants ask most often about this topic.

Can UV printing match Pantone colours?

It can match most references closely but not always exactly, because CMYK builds reproduce some saturated colours differently from screen printing with a spot ink. Where an exact brand colour is critical, we recommend a spot screen print or hot stamp for that element.

How does UV print durability compare with screen printing?

Both are durable when surface treatment and curing are correct. Screen printing lays a thicker film and generally performs better under heavy abrasion and on dark substrates; UV printing is adequate for normal handling.

Can I produce several designs in one order?

Yes — this is where UV printing is strongest. Multiple variants can be printed in one production run with consistent colour, from around 1,000 pcs per variant.

Does UV printing work on all materials?

It works on PP, PET, HDPE, acrylic and PE tubes, but ink adhesion depends on surface energy. PP and HDPE normally need flame or plasma treatment, and we verify adhesion with a tape test before the run.
